Minutes of the Human Relations Commission November 25, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 5:15 pm.
Present were Eva Hausman, Mickey Lecours-Beck and Susan Ersinghaus.
Mrs. Hausman began by thanking Ms. Lecours-Beck for all her hard work and dedication in procuring and distributing the new materials from Southern Poverty Law Center to the Commission members before this meeting so that they could be reviewed. Members agreed that the two booklets “Speak Up” and “Ten Ways to Fight Hate” could be great resources to distribute to the High School, Town Hall, Senior Center, Library and Police Station. Ms. Lecours-Beck shared even more materials she had found that might be appropriate and appealing to the High School Diversity Club: bracelets, backpack tags and magnets and will be taking them to the meeting with the High School Club for review on December 4, 2008 with the booklets to get their feedback.
Commission members agreed that Ms. Lecours-Beck would order the materials after receiving input from the students and Ms. Ersinghaus would order the stamp discussed in the previous meeting and provide it to Ms. Lecours-Beck to imprint booklets before distribution.
A meeting calendar for 2009 was proposed:

October 20, 2009
November 17, 2009.
The meeting calendar was approved.
As there was no new business the meeting was adjourned at 6:10.
