Clean Energy Task Force Minutes 04/13/2009 APPROVED
CLEAN ENERGY TASK FORCE MINUTES
April 13, 2009
REGULAR MEETING

The meeting was requested to be called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Commissioner Ray in Room 103 of Simsbury Town Hall. Commissioner Van Kleef moved to open the meeting which was seconded by Commissioner Fernand.  The meeting was thus agreed to start with the following members present:  Lori Fernand, Susan Van Kleef and Jim Ray.

1.  APPROVE THE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 16, 2009
The minutes from the last meeting  of March 30, 2009 were reviewed by all.  Commissioner Van Kleef made the motion to approve the minutes.  Commissioner Ray seconded the motion.  The minutes were agreed by all to be approved as written.

2.  PUBLIC AUDIENCE
Commissioner Ray opened the floor for public audience.  No comments were entered into the record and the public audience was closed.

3.  REVIEW OF ACTIONABLE ITEMS
Commissioner Ray updated the task force on the actionable items spreadsheet, which he compiled from previous meeting minutes.  The spreadsheet was used as the basis to review each open action with information to update the status, add a follow-on activity or agree that the action was now completed.  The spreadsheet will be updated and sent out prior to the next meeting with these agreed updates.  As the total list had grown, the spreadsheet had been changed to number each action and then separate tabs set up for those open and those had been closed.  As such, only those from the open tab were now reviewed.  For the purposes of the minutes, the more significant agreements are identified herein.
Commissioner Van Kleef agreed to complete the back of the CETF form as previously considered to make a CETF form specific for Simsbury.  With the change in the rates from the first of the year, Commissioner Ray agreed to get an updated CETF form from the CT CE website to provide for a complete form.  Commissioner Fernand had prepared a press release to try to get picked up for Earth Day but was not successful.  To handle further press releases and input for clubs/organization newsletters, Commissioner Fernand will send out the information to the task force.
In preparation for the upcoming Simsbury Volunteer Expo, agreements were made for the following:  1)  Banner is being made by Chairman Boeshans; 2)  Commissioner Van Kleef will bring her laptop to show the CETF Presentation;  3)  Commissioner Van Kleef to obtain from her school a KW demo that shows the savings between a regular incandescent bulb and a CFL; 4)  Commissioner Fernand to obtain some CFLs to be given away in a drawing;  5) location of electrical plug and an extension cord will be brought to handle the power needs;  6)  copies of the new Simsbury CE sign up form will be brought;  and 7)   sign-up forms will be brought for those who would be willing to distribute the CE sign up forms as well as those who would be interested in a business Simsbury energy savings recognition program.
Commissioner Ray indicated that with the new sign up forms, he will also do the same solicitations with sign-up forms for the Rotary Club presentation on the 23rd.
