The Simsbury Senior Center is located in Eno Memorial Hall, 754 Hopmeadow Street.
The Social Services Department provides assistance for residents with social, emotional, and economic needs of every kind. Our services help residents achieve self-sufficiency, maintain economic well-being and adjust to difficult circumstances and events in their lives. Like Simsbury itself, our services have grown and changed over the years. Today, our major program areas include services to the indigent, single adults, families, youth, seniors, and disabled.
Each year, the Social Services Department provides thousands of units of service to Simsbury individuals and families through programs which include: Financial Assistance, Medical Assistance, Counseling, the Cheese Program, the Holiday Program, Emergency Shelter, Private Funds, Eviction Assistance, Landlord/Tenant Mediation, Fuel Assistance, Renter Rebate Program, Information, Referrals and Notary services. In addition, we offer elderly and disabled residents many services through the Senior Center, Friendly Visitor Program, and the Dial-A-Ride program.
Counseling and support services are available to individuals who may be experiencing emotional problems, substance abuse, domestic violence, and other personal problems.
Financial assistance is available for those who meet eligibility requirements. Notary service is available.
Free Trigger Locks are available to Simsbury residents.
Dial-A-Ride
Mall Mondays - On the first Monday of each month the Dial-A-Ride bus will go to Buckland Hills Mall, and surrounding stores. The second Monday of each month, the bus will go to Enfield Square. The third Monday of each month, the bus will go to either Westfarms Mall, Buckland Hills Mall or Enfield Square. See the Dial-A-Ride section for further information.
Dial-A-Ride Medical Rides
This program, funded by a ConnDot Grant, provides transportation to medical appointments outside the regular Dial-A-Ride Program.
This transportation is available to Simsbury's elderly or disabled residents. To schedule your reservation, call 693-6876 between 8:00 AM - 12:00 noon at least one week in advance.
Dial-A-Ride Casino Trips
Dial-A-Ride provides transportation to the casinos each month. We alternate between Foxwood and Mohegan Sun. Call Dial-A-Ride at 693-6867 for information about the casino trip and reserve your seat. Reservations are taken between the hours of 8:00 AM - 12:00 noon.

RENTER’S REBATE PROGRAM
Simsbury's Social Services Department is now accepting applications for the Renter's Rebate Program. The Program application period runs from May 15th through September 15th, 2008.
Applicants must be at least 65 years of age, or be totally disabled - with proof of disability (as of December 31, 2007). Maximum income for a couple is $36,500; and for a single individual is $29,800.
Applicants will need to provide financial information for the calendar year 2007, including the 1099 Social Security form (or TPQY form showing disability); proof of any other income; all rent and utility receipts; and if filed, the front page of their 2007 income tax return.

Family Therapy Program can pay for five (5) family therapy sessions under a Youth Service Bureau Grant we received. Call the Social Services at 658-3283 for further information.
Emergency cell phones are now available for senior or disabled residents. These used cell phones will access the 911 emergency services system ONLY. Stop by the Social Services Department to pick up your free emergency cell phone.
The Medical Assistance Program is offered through the Social Services Department. This program is designed to assist senior residents pay for prescriptions. The programs offers a yearly grant. Income guidelines apply. Please call Social Services at 658-3283 for information or an appointment to apply. This program is sponsored through donations made to the Department.
